Last week, I had the privilege to join an intimate gathering of Atlanta business leaders, Deans of the Business Colleges of UGA and Georgia Tech, Attorneys and CPAs at the Indian Consul General’s residence, to meet Dr. Raphael W. Bostic, the 15th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. (https://lnkd.in/eeHW-GMd). Just recently retired, Dr. Bostic’s distinguished scholarly and professional credentials came through in his remarks and interaction with the group. He answered a host of questions relating to US federal interest rates; US monetary policy against the backdrop of fast moving geopolitical developments; composition of the Federal Reserve; AI as the latest economic disruptor in the US, India and worldwide; Indian immigrants & their contributions to the US economy; and Federal Reserve independence in instilling confidence among international investors in the US economy and dollar.
